Gain cross-cultural experience

Our short-term opportunities allow you to explore cross-cultural work and holistic ministry. Always offered in partnership with long-term workers and local organizations, these programs allow you to learn while serving in sustainable, culturally-appropriate ways aligned with community needs.

Why short-term?

Our short-term opportunities allow you to see how God’s working around the world and explore how you can fit into that.

  • See cross-cultural work up close.

Discerning God’s Call for Long-Term Service

Nathan* is a medical student passionate about making Christ known. He chose a medical rotation in Central Asia to learn more about the needs abroad and discern whether God is leading him to serve overseas long-term. “I’m hoping this experience will give me more clarity and vision for my future,” he said.

Exploring Social Work in Another Culture

Emma* is a college student passionate about social work and environmental sustainability. She participated in a NextGen trip to Southeast Asia to experience another culture, seek God’s direction for the future, and explore what it might look like to do social work in an international context.

Learning How to Work Cross-Culturally

Adam* is a medical student eager to serve in a more global capacity. He chose a medical elective overseas to learn alongside a doctor who works in a mission hospital in Asia. “Medical school trains you to be a doctor; but it doesn’t train you to be a cross-cultural worker, so I’m thankful for this opportunity,” he said.
