What we provide

Explore our Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who do you send?

Whether you’re a student, retiree, or mid-career, we have opportunities for you! Our short-term opportunities (4-8 weeks) are designed specifically with students in mind, and especially for those interested in gaining exposure to cross-cultural work. Mid-term opportunities (2 months-2 years) are ideal for those who aren’t ready or able to make a long-term commitment, including students, folks taking a gap year or career break, and those hoping to leverage a new season of life, such as post-graduation and post-retirement. Long-term opportunities (2+ years) are ideal for those who already have some cross-cultural experience – and they’re well-suited for working adults of all ages, as well as those pursuing a second career.

  • How long does the process take?

For short-term and mid-term opportunities, the process generally takes 6-9 months. Long-term opportunities, which require more training, financial support, and preparation to secure placements, take a bit longer. Naturally, it varies, but the process for long-term opportunities usually takes around 12 months.

  • How is it funded?

Most of our service opportunities are fundraised opportunities enabled through the generosity of fellow church members, friends, family, and colleagues. Some positions are salaried, but they often require supplemental support. Afraid of fundraising? Don’t be! We’ll train you and walk with you throughout the process. Plus, fundraising is a unique opportunity to build partnerships and get others involved in the work God is doing around the world.
