About Our Support

Explore our frequently asked questions

  • Who will train me?

For a robust, well-rounded training, long-term workers learn from our staff and alumni at an in-person orientation, and then from some of our trusted partners at a more intensive pre-field training.

  • Do I need a theological degree?

No! However, we do require our long-term workers to complete courses in Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey. We have a few recommended resources (all free!) that you can use to fulfill this requirement.

  • What else can I do to prepare?

Some of the best preparation for the field is faithfulness where God has you right now! Consider how you can integrate your work and faith in day-to-day life, deepen your commitment to your local church, and take an active role in serving your community. We also encourage you to pray regularly for the nations, look for opportunities to build cross-cultural relationships, and address potential obstacles to serving abroad – like large amounts of financial debt. Once you’re in our application process, we’ll recommend more specific, practical steps you can take to prepare.
