Counseling Healthcare Social Work

Are you a mental health specialist eager to help others find healing and wholeness in Christ? Use your skills to serve in contexts where Jesus is least known. There are opportunities to support other cross-cultural workers and Third Culture Kids (TCKs) as they navigate the complexities and hardships of cross-cultural service, as well as opportunities to provide care to locals and refugees. In addition to providing clinical services, there are opportunities to train local practitioners in order to build local capacity and address regional mental health needs.

With a 170+ year history in cross-cultural work, Interserve has robust networks of trusted organizations on the ground – allowing you to work with people who grasp the local context and meet regional needs in a sustainable way that dignifies others. Placements are often available at Christian counseling centers, NGOs, community development projects, and similar settings

Placements are often available in the following regions. We’ll work with you to match your specific skills and interests to one that’s the best fit. For security, we share specific locations after screening.

Duration

Some placements may have a more fixed duration; others are rather flexible. We’ll talk with you to determine how long you’d like to serve and help you find a placement that’s the right fit.
