About West and Central Asia

Our places of service in West and Central Asia are populated by nearly 300 people groups, including both Turkic and Persian peoples. The majority faith is Islam. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, this diverse region has faced significant economic instability, and despite economic growth in recent years, poverty remains high. This region is also experiencing several demographic shifts, as well as high rates of unemployment, corruption, drug trafficking, and other social issues. More than ever, the region needs cross-cultural workers serving with a holistic approach.
