About South Asia

One of the most densely populated regions of the world, South Asia includes more than two billion people – approximately a quarter of the world’s population. It is also home to more than 3,800 people groups, most of which have never encountered followers of Christ. Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism, and Buddhism were all birthed here, and Islam also has a significant presence. In fact, a third of the world’s Muslims call South Asia home. Economic disparities, discrimination and persecution, drug addiction, and environmental pollution are major challenges in this region.

Pray for South Asia

Pray for strong, safe communities.

Ask God to strengthen communities and use His people to uplift impoverished, at-risk, and marginalized people.

Pray for wise, effective leaders.

Ask God to raise up leaders to tackle multifaceted social issues and bring long-lasting transformation.

Pray for churches to be the aroma of Christ.

Pray that the Church here would strengthen its witness by loving neighbors holistically, transforming their communities, and modeling ethnic unity.

Pray for more laborers.

With such significant population density, and so many physical and spiritual needs, the harvest is plentiful in South Asia. Pray that God would send laborers as humble servants into these harvest fields.
