Who Can Apply
Long-term Service
Requirements for applying for Long-term service with InterServe/USA:
- A strong sense that God is directing you to serve cross-culturally
- A supportive home church
- Some Christian experience (i.e. discipling others, teaching
Sunday School, holding church office, leading a Bible study,
etc.)
- A marketable skill
- Completed Preliminary Information Form (Prelim) and application
- A secular CV (resume)

Short-term Service (On-Track)
Who Can Serve:
- College students and recent graduates
- Skilled professionals
- Finishers
- Team Programs (i.e. Hug Teams or Camp Teams in Central
Asia)
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a Christian
- Desire to serve God in a cross-cultural ministry
- 18 years through retirement (some positions require a
minimum age of 21)
Term of Service:
1 month to 1 year (medical electives require at least 7
weeks)
Expenses and Fees:
- Application, orientation, and placement fees will be
required
- On Track workers pay their own way by raising support
from family, friends and churches
