Who Can Apply

Long-term Service

Requirements for applying for Long-term service with InterServe/USA:

  1. A strong sense that God is directing you to serve cross-culturally
  2. A supportive home church
  3. Some Christian experience (i.e. discipling others, teaching Sunday School, holding church office, leading a Bible study, etc.)
  4. A marketable skill
  5. Completed Preliminary Information Form (Prelim) and application
  6. A secular CV (resume)

Short-term Service (On-Track)

Who Can Serve:

  • College students and recent graduates
  • Skilled professionals
  • Finishers
  • Team Programs (i.e. Hug Teams or Camp Teams in Central Asia)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a Christian
  • Desire to serve God in a cross-cultural ministry
  • 18 years through retirement (some positions require a minimum age of 21)

Term of Service:

1 month to 1 year (medical electives require at least 7 weeks)

Expenses and Fees:

  • Application, orientation, and placement fees will be required
  • On Track workers pay their own way by raising support from family, friends and churches
