Workshops
Our desire is to
serve your church. One way we can do that is through offering
workshops that inform, motivate, challenge, and provide practical
help and direction for ministry and missions involvement.
A workshop can be four hours long; it can be two days long.
The main feature is interaction—we all, participants
and leaders--are at work on the topic presented.
Going Among the
Nations without a Passport
Going Among the
Nations without a Passport takes people or churches considering
involvement in ethnic ministry through an exposure to the
biblical mandate for such ministry, through the basic issues
of cross-cultural communication, and to a process of brainstorming
what that church or individual might do to begin ministering
to the nations in their neighborhoods.
The workshop was
designed to be held on Friday evening and all day Saturday
for a total of about 10 hours. It has also been presented
using the Sunday morning and evening services followed by
Monday and Tuesday evening sessions. And shorter versions
can be arranged as well.
The sponsoring church
is asked to cover the costs of materials (about $12.00 per
participant), the roundtrip airfares of the presenters, and
to provide meals and lodging for the presenters. An additional
honorarium is appreciated but not required.
Design
Your Impact
This
workshop helps church leadership teams realize their missions
potential. Discover your congregation's key characteristics
and resources (your DNA) and identify a strategic missions
focus that can unleash powerful, new global dynamic from your
church.
This
fast-moving, hands-on learning experience is led by mission
agency facilitators. Six new video stories illustrate how
churches from Pennsylvania to California have selected and
implemented a strategic missions focus based on the unique
vision and resources God has invested in them.
The
Design Your Impact Workshop also includes lively animation,
a step-by-step PowerPoint presentation, and a complete participant's
notebook (an extensive facilitator's manual is available for
purchase).
By
the end of the workshop, participants have a vision for a
custom-designed, high-impact global mission and concrete ideas
of how to implement it employing proven 21st century approaches.
