Cross-cultural workers may face anti-Americanism overseas
American cross-cultural Christian workers are sometimes surprised by the level of anti-U.S. prejudice they may experience overseas, said Doug Van Bronkhorst at Interserve’s February candidate school.
“American cultural hegemony, misinformation, and a distrust of U.S. military power contribute to attitudes,” he explained. “Preparation goes a long way in learning to cope with this issue in a loving and graceful way.”
