Nepal looks forward to peace, new government

Change is in the air in Nepal, both politically and in the way that NGOs operate, according to Doug Van Bronkhorst, in a recent interview with Mission Network News.

The war between the government and the Maoists is officially over and elections will be held in June for an assembly to write a new constitution. Christian NGOs, too, are changing from foreign to Nepali-lead.

“Nepali Christians and the Nepali church taking the initiative in some of those programs," Van Bronkhorst reiterated. However, there is still room for Christian expatriate professionals to work along side emerging Nepali-led organizations.
